Free Community Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner!!
12th Annual Saegertown Community Thanksgiving Dinner at Saegertown United Methodist Church, 620 Euclid Ave, Saegertown on Sunday, November 12 from 4 pm – 6 pm. Come share with the community & friends and enjoy a great FREE dinner!! Local delivery to area shut-ins available, order deliveries by NOON on Thursday, November 9th by calling the church office at 814-763-6685. This dinner is made possible by the generous donations and volunteers of the entire Saegertown community of churches and businesses.
Community Christmas Festival and Tractor Parade:
Saturday, November 18th starting at 4:30 pm
Everyone is welcome to join the event for free food, fellowship and fun.
at Saegertown United Methodist Church on Euclid Ave. at 4:30 pm.
Featuring: live band “7th Day,”
free hotdogs, popcorn, cookies, hot cocoa & hot cider,
“make & take” crafts, face painting, and a live nativity.
Special appearance by Santa & Mrs. Claus!
The Tractor Parade starts at 6:30 pm.
Water Project – PFAS Removal:
The Borough Engineers have completed an application to Pa. DEP for a project to remove the PFAS contamination from our water system. The wells in question have been taken offline until the new system is in place. Watch future newsletters for updates on the project.
Garbage pick-up will be as usual on Monday Nov. 27th.
Boro Office Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday
The Boro Office will be closed from Thursday Nov.23 until Tuesday morning Nov. 28th.
Property Taxes:
There will NOT be an increase in Borough Property Taxes in 2024. Once again, we are holding the line!
Increase in Water Line Fees:
Water rates will remain the same in 2023, however the water line fee will increase (per month) as follows:

6” or larger $100.00 $150.00
4” $25.00 $35.00
2” and 1.5” $20.00 $25.00
1” $5.00 $6.00
.75” $1.00 $2.00 (small service)
Late Water Payments and Shut-Offs:
Late fees for water bills have been increased starting in January 2024.
$15.00 per unit or 18% whichever is higher.
Remember: Water bills are due by the 20th of each month.
Garbage Rates will remain the same in 2024!
Increase in Rental Unit Inspection Fees:
New rental inspection fees for 2024 are as follows:
-$60 for first unit in a building
-$30 for each additional unit in the building.
-Re-inspection fee: $60 PER UNIT!
-Make sure ALL items are up to date and current to the code before the inspection.

Honor a vet on Saturday November 11th. Thank them for their service.
Election Day:
Make sure to vote on Tuesday November 7th. Every election is Important!
Snow Parking Regulations start Nov. 1st:
-NO PARKING ANYTIME on any street on Saeger-Heights.
-NO PARKING along Main Street and Erie St. from Midnight to 7:00 am.
-ODD – EVEN parking Only on all other streets from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm
-NO PARKING on the north or west side of any street on even days (2-4-6 etc.)
-NO PARKING on the south or east side of any street on odd days (1-3-5 etc.)
-Call the Borough Office if you need any clarification.
Brush Pick-up ends November 1st:
No more brush will be picked up after November 1st. Store any you have away from the street until spring.
Basketball Hoops:
All portable basketball hoops must be removed from the street right-of-way by November 1st.
Hoops must be at least 30 feet from the center of the street, until spring.
Saegertown Volunteer Fire Dept.:
-The annual fund drive is in progress. Please be generous with your annual donation.
If you did not get a fund drive letter, you can mail a donation to Po Box 164, Saegertown, Pa. 16433.
News from your Saegertown Area Library:
– Saegertown Area Library welcomes their new director, Lauren Lowery.
– Library Punch Cards are now available! For youth ages K-12, we have different challenges for each month to earn punches. Once a punch card is completed, it will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Target Gift Card.
– Our Holiday Basket Raffle will kick off on November 1. Stop by Library to buy a chance to win prizes.
Saegertown Heritage Society:
The final program of the year will be Nov. 11 at 11:00. The event is free and refreshments will be served.
George Washington Trail Sign Coming to town this year! It will be placed near the South Roundabout.
Safety Tip of the Month: Hunt Safely
●Positively identify your target – never shoot at sounds or movement.
●Buckle up if you hunt from an elevated stand – wear a harness.
●Make sure someone knows where you are and when you will return.
●Be seen –wear the required orange clothing.
●Keep firearms pointed in a safe direction.
●Make sure your safety is always on until you are ready to shoot.
