Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Borough Office Open:

Until further notice – the Borough Office will be open with same conditions, using COVID precautions.

Vacations:

If the Office is closed, our employees are usually using vacation days off, or we are at a meeting.

Please use the Drop Box on the west side of the building for any payments.

Leaves:

The Borough will no longer pick up leaves, brush or yard waste until Spring.

Our employees have nearly 250 man-hours in picking up leaves so far this year!

Considering the early leaf drop, and the extremely wet autumn, we want to thank our Guys for doing a great job under rough circumstances!

We constantly review our leaf policies and best way to pick them up.

We still highly recommend mulching leaves. If you are in the market for a new mower, consider a mulching mower!

Christmas and New Year’s Holidays:

Borough Office will be closed for Christmas on Thursday December 24, and Friday Dec. 25th.

We will also be closed on Friday January 1st, 2021. Please have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!

Santa Arriving?

Due to COVID, Santa will not be coming to town by fire truck this year.

He wanted us to assure all children in Saegertown that he will be coming

as usual on Christmas Eve. ***And he will be wearing a mask!

Safety Committee:

The Borough and the Fire Dept. have an active safety committee that meets monthly. The safety record of both organizations is excellent, and by having the committee, we save 5% on our worker’s comp. premiums!

Garbage pick-up:

Garbage pickup will take place as normal on Monday December 28th and January 4, 2021.

New Pick-up Truck:

The Borough has recently taken delivery of a new pick-up truck to replace our 9-year old truck.

It has 4 Wheel drive and

It has a utility bed, a lift-gate and

                                                                                            Reflective safety striping

New Dump Truck:

We are also replacing our 14-year old dump truck with a new one, including switchable beds from the

Switch ’n Go Company next door to the Borough Building. They provided us with a great purchase price.

This makes the truck more versatile, by switching different beds on it.

For Sale:

We will sell the used trucks by bid if anyone is interested. After the first of the year, watch for the ad in the Tribune or a future newsletter.

 Snow Parking:

Remember: Snow parking regulations are in effect from November 1st to April 1st.

Individuals Plowing Snow:

Individuals plowing snow cannot plow onto Borough Streets or property.

Individuals plowing snow cannot plow onto another person’s property.

Plowing with ATV’s and using Borough streets for access requires Borough permission.

Call the Office.

Snow on Sidewalks: Main Street: Reminder

If it snows at least 2 inches–

All sidewalks along Main St. must be kept clear of snow and ice.

This must be done at LEAST once every calendar day.

Thank You Saegertown Fire Dept.:

The firemen directed traffic and provided a safety patrol for Trick-or-Treat night.

Saegertown has one of the most popular Halloween events due to this service!
